A crucially missed detail

Im sure you’ve heard of the quote – “You are who you spend your time with.”

Or you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with…

And this is absolutely correct, but, what people miss is,

It’s not only who you spend your time with, but WHERE.

The environment is important.

Because the places we spend time in shape us. It brings out different parts of who we are.

And you can see that behavior change when you’re in a bar, as opposed to when you’re hiking in nature.

Just sit and think about it for a moment. Remember how you act when you’re in the mountains, or the sea, and then compare it with being in a bar.

Where in nature, you’re peaceful and light, in bars you’re rowdy and loud.

Not to mention the difference in conversation and vibe.

And that’s why porn is so prevalent today.

Because people stay at home too much.

Where else can you watch porn but in the privacy of your home?

There is this quote I vaguely remember… “Taller, stronger trees grow in healthier soil.”

And in the story of my life, when I was putting a stop to my addictions, I not only had to stop hanging out with people who pulled me down, but I had to avoid those places as well.

Because it’s not (only) the people who bring out that degenerative side of you, it’s the place!

And the place brings that out in everyone!

Bring your friends from the bar to nature, or to the gym, and you will see how different they become. Complete change – in an instant.

So if you want to replace bad habits with good ones, hang out in places where good habits are being cultivated.

Gym, Library, Nature

And avoid places where bad habits lay dormant.

Casinos, Bars, Night Clubs

P.S.

Im not trying to knock down partying, sometimes you gotta let loose, but, it is degenerate Im sure we can all agree on that.
